Our Legacy

Gene Costa was in the restaurant business for 40+ years. He was brought up under the tutelage of his father and was the third generation to run a 60-year-old restaurant in New York City. He was given a proclamation in Manhattan’s City Hall and the restaurant, Surprise Rotisserie, is in the history books of the city and is still legendary in Harlem today.

Gene and his wife Claudia have proudly created here at Bon Appetit not only a Restaurant and Catering Company with great food but one where you genuinely feel appreciated and acknowledged. As many of you know Gene was one of a kind and spoke from his heart. His Passion for food was to no end, he enjoyed watching people enjoy their food; he was a very Proud Man not only for his business but for his family and friends. He would do anything for anyone in need. He would go that extra mile to make it happen. He never thought of himself first always wanted the best for his Wife Claudia, two Daughters and Family. He will be missed very much but will always be in our hearts forever. As Gene would say to our Family & Team at Bon Appetit “The show must go on here at Bon Appetit” which we plan to do as Bon Appetit carries on Genes Legacy.
